One of the things that make 4 Kids unique is 4 Families, our social services program. We know that children learn and grow best when the whole family functions well together, so we work closely with parents and children to support them in ways that may not be available to them elsewhere.

	Some families deal with complex issues like housing displacement, family violence, parenting challenges, emotional distress, or substance abuse. We provide information, advice, and support to help those families access essential community resources.
	We help parents and children gain access to health and mental health resources by making initial referrals and providing ongoing support during the referral process and beyond.
	In the classroom, 4 Families staff supplements the existing curriculum with special activities that promote the children's social, emotional and behavioral progress, and we offer to arrange specialized help for children in those areas when needed.
	We provide special training for parents on topics like parenting and child health, along with presentations on subjects such as employment opportunities, job training, and safety.
	For healthy family fun, we schedule a variety of family activities— from holiday events and community speakers to family game nights and talent shows.

In all these areas, our focus is on helping the child achieve more by supporting the all-important family unit.
