At 4 Kids, we know that parenting is both a great challenge and a great joy, and we want to be your partner, not your replacement. We are as committed to you as we are to your child, and we hope and expect you will work closely with us while your child is enrolled at 4 Kids.
			WE NEED YOUR HELP!We rely on support from parents, whether you're contributing materials to be used in classroom projects or volunteering to accompany a field trip. Click here to learn about the kinds of help we currently need.

	Parents are welcome to visit 4 Kids any time, whether to feed a child, administer medication, comfort an anxious child, or just observe the Center's activities.
	Parents are invited to all special events and field trips.
	Parent suggestion boxes are located in the front hallway at each center, for sharing ideas, concerns, or recommendations.
	We request that parents attend our regular parent meetings, which are informative and provide an opportunity to meet other parents and staff.
	Our ongoing research in partnership with the University of Pittsburgh and Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh provides detailed assessments of each child's progress. Three times a year, parents meet individually with their children's teachers to discuss the assessment, talk about what's happening in the children's lives, and adjust educational goals.
	Because we know that strong families are important to children's growth, our 4 Families program provides parents and children with important support services focused on empowering and strengthening the entire family.

Parental rights

	Parents are entitled to high quality care for their child.
	Parents are entitled to confidentiality of all information.
	Parents are entitled to access to all information gathered on their children through the evaluation process.
	Parents are entitled to have their children cared for in a safe environment.

Parental responsibilities

	All visitors must register at the reception area.
	Parents who can't afford to pay full fees must be active in seeking other funding sources for their child's care. This means applying to Child Care Information Services, Head Start, or other funding support, informing us of current and past welfare eligibility, and completing food reimbursement forms. Our staff will be glad to help with this process.
	Families receiving bridge funding through our EITC Scholarship Program must agree to work with our family support specialists to secure more permanent child care funding to work toward reaching established family goals.
	Parents must tell 4 Kids of changes in address or income, and any change in a child's health, behavior, or home environment.
	Parents must be actively involved in the care of their children.
