Giant Steps 4 Kids Current Supporters

Because many of our families don't have the resources to pay for quality early education (and because Pennsylvania is one of the few states that don't support early education), 4 Kids is grateful for the generous support of local individuals and businesses. Click here to learn about some of our supporters. Your contribution would be welcome, too.

CURRENT NEEDS
Our ongoing needs are described on this page, but we often ask parents and other supporters to help out with short-term needs that apply directly to our classroom activities. This is what we're looking for right now:

VOLUNTEERS:

Financial support for our operation
Send a check to 4 Kids Early Learning Programs, 445 Fourth Street, Braddock PA 15104. All contributions are tax-deductible.
Your United Way contribution can go directly to 4 Kids—just enter the number 966658 and "4 Kids Early Childhood" on the Donor Option card.
Good news for businesses—the Pennsylvania Educational Improvement Tax Credit offers a way to reduce your state taxes while supporting 4 Kids. Download information here or call us at 412-351-0535 for details.

Volunteers
People who give their time to 4 Kids make an invaluable contribution, and we're glad to have qualified volunteer help reading to the children, accompanying field trips, and more. For more information about volunteer opportunities, either on a regularly-scheduled basis or occasionally, call us at 412-271-3300.

Interns
Undergraduate and graduate students in fields such as child development, elementary education, and social work find that 4 Kids presents a rewarding real-world enhancement to their studies. Call 412-271-3300 for details.

For the safety of the children, all volunteers and interns who work with children in Pennsylvania must obtain Act 33 and 34 clearances—a State Police check on criminal records and child abuse history. The SP-164 application form is available from State Police offices and at 4 Kids centers, or can be downloaded online here. The clearance process takes approximately 4-6 weeks.
